Dennis Sloan is an Assistant Professor of Drama at the University of Houston-Downtown. He holds a PhD in Theatre from Bowling Green State University, an MA in Humanities-Aesthetic Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas, and both an MA and a BA in Drama from Texas Woman’s University. His research interests are in Latinx Theatre, culturally specific theatre, the history of actor training, queer theatre, and musical theatre. He has previously taught at DePauw University, Bowling Green State University, Miami University of Ohio, Owens Community College, San Jose City College, Texas Woman’s University, and Collin College. He has directed in Texas, California, and Ohio and has been an active member of the American Society for Theatre Research, the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, and the Mid-America Theatre Conference.
