LA: What do you love most about your current position? Why?
CG: I love that I can connect female students from historically-underserved demographics with community resources and mentorship opportunities to empower them with the knowledge, confidence for their future. While growing up, many of these opportunities were not available for me or my parents were not aware of them.
LA: How have you sought to help your community through your work?
CG: I have always enjoyed connecting my community to resources and opportunities, especially first-generation students and families.
LA: What advice would you give to a college student interested in pursuing a career in your field?
CG: My suggestion for any college student is to join clubs, organizations and participate in internships. It can be intimidating at first, but it is beneficial for their career. It allows them to build social skills and allows them to meet people.
LA: Are there currently any opportunities available in your profession for students?
CG: College female students are invited to be mentors to elementary, middle, and high school students.
