Houston’s current Poet Laureate, Deborah “D.E.E.P.” Mouton @livelifedeep has published and performed poetry since the age of 19. On stage, Deborah has been a finalist for the Individual World Poetry Slam, and was once ranked the No. 2 female performance poet in the world. Today, Deborah is focusing on the betterment of students as a high school English teacher, as well as a Slammaster/Coach for the Houston VIP National Poetry Slam Team.

A three time grand slam champion of Houston, Jeremyah is an experienced poet and storyteller. Witness both poets in an unforgettable spoken word performance and participate in an open discussion hosted by the University of Houston-Downtown.
