Fasten your seat belts because campers are going to create their own time machine to learn about the Aztec and Mayan empires. Children will learn new vocabulary as they journey to ancient Mexico and Central America to explore how the civilizations lived and thrived. Campers will learn all about the foundation of the Aztec Empire and make their own Boturini Codex retelling the tale of the peregrination of the Aztecs and the foundation of Tenochtitlan. Children will also carve their own Aztec Calendar and learn why the Aztecs were master scientists. Campers will also get introduced to the Mayans, visit Tikal, Uxmal and Chichen Itza, dive into a cenote in Tulum and learn all about their magnificent pyramids in the south of Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and El Salvador. Campers will sculpt their own Mayan pyramid and learn why the Mayans are considered such amazing astronomers.
