Coding an Autonomous Car

Step into the driver’s seat and control your first autonomous car! In this course you will explore the logic necessary to have a robot car navigate a set route and recognize obstacles. Using a custom version of the Scratch programming language, you can take your first steps coding with an easy to use graphical interface. Hop in the fast lane and become an engineer today!
 

Who can attend?

Students ages 10 through 13 (5th Grade - 8th Grade)

Anyone interested in electronics or basic programming.
 

Recommended Prerequisites​​

General computer experience and an interest in programming.

Schedule​​

June 3 – 13 – Monday to Thursday – Two Weeks

  • University of Houston-Downtown (9 am to 12 noon)

June 17 – June 27 – Monday to Thursday – Two Weeks

  • University of Houston - Clear Lake (8:30 am to 11:30 am)
  • Cornerstone Christian Academy, Sugar Land (9 am to 12 noon)

July 1 – 11 – Monday to Thursday – Two Weeks (no class on July 4)

  • Faith West School (9 am to 12 noon)
  • Nolan Ryan Jr. High School (1 pm to 4 pm)
