Carol Brace brings, to the University of Houston Downtown, 25-years of global supply chain - logistics experience 20 years from Compaq Computer Corporation/Hewlett Packard. The past 12 years focused on managing global supply chain logistics out of Shanghai and Taiwan. Carol also serves as a missionary traveling every year to countries around the world to share her masonry, plumbing and building skills. Carol's academic preparation includes a BS in Industrial Management from University of Akron, a Masters in Occupational Technology from the University of Houston, and certifications in CTL, CIL, PMP, SCOR, and LSSBB. She serves on the following boards ALCREJ (American Latino Center for Education Research & Justice), Metro Stakeholders Task Force, Gov't Affairs & Transportation for the Houston NW Chamber of Commerce and TUTS (Theatre Under the Stars), while being actively involved in: ASTL, CSCMP, East End Chamber of Commerce, ITMA, NAPM, NDTA, IoPP, PMI, SCC, SIDO, West Gulf Maritime Association (WGMA), Maritime Education Committee, and works closely with our Corporate University Partner Hewlett Packard.​

PSG Global Supply Chain Operations Mgr. 2007 - 2010
Responsible for ODM/OEM supply chain readiness including new program introduction and ramp, management of programs for volume, quality and cost from "cradle to grave" in a high-mix, complex environment. Aide in driving the development of all procurement processes and strategies in order to meet targets for cost savings, order fulfillment and customer satisfaction. Responsible for team building, risk mitigation utilizing HP processes/tools and for managing supplier development, sourcing, and relationships, and negotiate and manage ODM contracts.

Commodity Mgr., ISPG Supply Chain 2005 - 2007
Responsible for developing contracts: negotiating costs, terms, and developing relationships with suppliers. Prepared ground work for competitive bids, cost comparison and assuring best representation of qualified suppliers. Utilized LSSBB in order to define, measure, analyze, implement and control all bids presented to team for initiation of final contract. Managed the daily execution activities of our Alliance ODM (SDF vs. 830, OCT, FCT 870, 856, 810). Monitored ship performance against commitments daily and resolve issues that impact product ship/delivery performance. Monitored EDI transactions to and from the ODM daily to ensure system accuracy. Coordinated all EDI setups for HP via HTC (plant, new systems or new procedures). Evaluated material position and obsolescence weekly. Prepared executive summaries on critical shortages and submit final obsolescence packages for sign-off at program EOL. Reviewed AP aging monthly and reconcile accounts. Prepared ODM execution metrics reports monthly. Compiled, analyzed and presented secondary forecasts. Restructured and improved HTC’s website. EIS 2 super user for iPAQ HH.

Business Analyst III, 1994 – 2000
• Recognized for reducing Workstation Obsolescence from $13.9 million to $1.6 million by developing key drill down procedures and championing the project to product engineers, marketing, management and Geos.
• Developed a worldwide INUB (incremental net unit billed) summary report for Workstation Core Team, that produced a clear picture of our problems and how to correct them, which greatly reduced INUBs for the division.
• Managed PCA’s by interfacing effectively with all manufacturing sites, purchasing, and engineering to assure a smooth build transition upon the closure of our Singapore Plant for Workstation Division.
• Implemented and managed Inventory Control process for corporate Workstations program managers. Focused on product transition, roadmap determination, profitability analysis, channel inventory and sales out promotions.
• Created daily worldwide Operations Summary Report for senior management, which included channel inventory, sales out, sales in, demand analysis, order flow, and was utilized to manage the supply of materials and determine course of business.
• Developed Options/Graphics Historical Sales Out/Revenue Reports to aid in forecasting and marketing decisions resulting in $1.2 million savings to the Workstations Division.
• Handled RAS input and weekly RAS Business Operation Reports for Workstations Division.
• Analyzed and updated MRP (Material Requisition Parts), ODF (Order Demand Flow), Flex (with Materials Planning group) and OPP (Order Promised Parts) to ensure proper material supply for Workstation new products
• Created and maintained PPP Table (Plan Product Preference) and NPP (New Product Pre-build), schedule resulting in smooth operations for new product manufacturing start-ups.
