Alicia A. Yancy is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of Houston – Downtown, where she primarily teaches Cost and Managerial Accounting. She holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of Southern California, as well as Bachelors and MBA degrees from the University of Houston and Rice University, respectively. Dr. Yancy is passionate about the study of accounting and encourages students to pursue careers in public accounting and industry and to pursue CPA certification. She has served as the faculty advisor for UHD’s Professional Accounting Society and is actively involved with the Houston Society of CPAs Student Auxiliary.
Prior to her career in academia, Dr. Yancy held several positions in accounting and finance at Weston Solutions and BMC Software.
