5 Tips for Using Social Media to Stand Out as an MBA Student
These days, it’s pretty much a given that your social media presence matters. It matters when you’re applying to a school or making your way through rounds of interviews for your dream job—even when you’re trying your hand at the online dating game.

It also matters once you're on the job, or in the program. If you have an online presence, anybody with Wi-Fi and your last name is only a few keystrokes away from a virtual treasure trove of information about you. What they find can leave a lasting impression.

Is the Rise in H-1B Petitions from U.S. Employers a Good Sign for International Students?
In April 2019, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it received 201,001 petitions from U.S. companies for H-1B visas this year, a 6 percent increase over the number it received last year and the first time in three years the number of petitions for the skilled guest worker visas rose versus the previous year.

Mock Interview Days November 5-6 from 9am-7pm  
The Davies Business Career Center invites employers to campus to conduct mock interviews with students November 5-6, 2019 from 9am-7pm. The purpose of these practice sessions is to give students an appreciation of what to expect in a typical interview and an opportunity to refine their interviewing skills. By choosing to participate in this event, you are:
  • Enhancing communication/interview skills necessary to make you competitive in today's job market
  • Practicing professionalism by arriving early for the event, dressing professionally, and displaying a positive attitude while at the event
  • Building your professional network by developing connections before graduation and obtaining contact information to stay connected
