Education Benefits Programs offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs:
New Applicants
Chapters 30, 33, 1606 and 1607
If you believe that you qualify for one of the programs listed above, you can apply for your benefits through the Veterans ON-line APPlication (VONAPP) website. Your application for VA benefits will be processed by the Education Processing Office for the state of Texas in Muskogee, Oklahoma. You will also need to register with the Veterans Services Office so that they can certify you for your classes. Enrollment Packet
If you are currently receiving Veterans Education Benefits at another college/university and are planning to transfer to UH-Downtown, you must complete and submit a Supplemental Enrollment Packet to Veterans Services.
Chapter 31
If you believe that you qualify for the program listed above, you can apply for your benefits through the Department of Veteran Affairs Regional office - 6900 Almeda, Houston, Texas 77030. You will also need to register with the Veterans Services Office so that they can certify you for your classes. Chapter 31 Enrollment Packet
Chapter 35
If you believe that you qualify for the program listed above, you can apply for your benefits by completing the Chp 35 Enrollment Packet and returning it to Veterans Services.
If you are currently receiving Veterans Education Benefits at another college/university and are planning to transfer to UH-Downtown, you must complete and submit a Chapter 35 Supplemental Packet to Veterans Services.
