Robert Krueger and Kathleen Krueger will speak at UHD,
Thursday April 17, 2008, at 2:30 at the Cullen Auditorium. Robert Krueger holds a PhD in literature from Oxford, and has served as US Congressman, US Senator, and Texas Railroad Commissioner. He has also held several diplomatic posts, including Ambassador to Burundi. Kathleen Krueger is best known for her national advocacy for stronger anti-stalking laws, her numerous volunteer and civil activities, and currently serves on the New Braunfels, Texas, city council.
Together, they will discuss their recent book, From Bloodshed to Hope in Burundi: Our Embassy Years during Genocide (University of Texas Press, 2007), and their experience with the spillover from the neighboring Rwandan genocide in the mid-1990s.
