The Houston Affiliate of the AWSCPA will award two scholarships of $1,000 each to women accounting students at its annual Charter Renewal Dinner meeting on Thursday, June 19, 2008. Winners must be present at the meeting to receive their awards.

To qualify, the women must meet ALL of the following requirements:
• Be a United States citizen
• Be a declared accounting student
• Have completed 20 hours toward a degree
• Have completed 12 hours of accounting

Candidates will be evaluated based on their academic performance, financial need, extracurricular activities and achievements, community involvement, and professional recommendations.

Candidates should return a completed application by e-mail or to the address below. Only those applications postmarked by May 16, 2008 will be considered. Official transcripts and recommendation letters must be received no later than May 23, 2008. Please include your e-mail address and phone number on the application.
