Q. How do I register for Sports Day at UHD?
A. You can register on-line here.
Q. Where is the Student Life Center at the University of Houston-Downtown?
A. Our building, officially named the Jesse H. Jones Student Life Center is the building just north of the 1 Main Building on our campus. Click here for a map of the campus.
Q. How much does the Sports Day event cost?
A. The event is free to all student athletes, their families, and coaches.
Q. Where do I park for the event?
A. The Sports & Fitness Department has reserved the UHD Visitor Parking Garage for all Sports Day participants at no cost to participants. If there is a need for overflow parking, there is a City of Houston metered parking lot adjacent to the Student Life Center and it cost 25 cents for each half hour you are parked there.
Q. Will the student athletes have to demonstrate any skills at Sports Day?
A. No. Sports Day is intended to give the student athletes and their families and coaches an opportunity to meet our coaches, current players, and learn more about our university and sports programs.
Q. Is there a difference between the Sports Day event on November 6, 2010 and April 23, 2010? Do I have to attend both?
A. No, there is no difference between the two days and you only need to attend one to receive all the information from the university, department, and coaches will provide. We are just offering multiple dates in the event there is schedule conflict for the student athletes and their families.
Q. Will I be able to tour the university during the Sports Event?
A. If you would like to arrive 30-45 minutes before the event (or stay after), our student athletes will be available to give you an informal tour of the campus. Official campus tours may be scheduled with our Office of Admissions by calling (713) 221-8522 or online by clicking here.
Q. If I am a senior, am I eligible to tryout in the spring for teams that hold spring tryout for 2011-2012 teams.
A. If you are a senior and you have been accepted to UHD for fall 2011, yes you may tryout.
Q. How can the Admissions Counselor or Financial Aid Counselor help me?
A. The counselors are resources for all of your questions related to applying for college, financing your education, and learning about the university in general.
