Flag Football League (Men and Women)
The University of Houston-Downtown Flag Football League provides a fun and safe environment for student athletes. Along with being a fun and exciting sport, players learn the skill of teamwork while staying active and physically fit. All interested UHD students may register online
General Information

  • Entries open Sept. 4 and close on Sept. 17
  • Play begins on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. starting Sept. 15 at McReynolds Middle School
  • There will be a $20 team entry fee
  • League play is 5 weeks
  • All participants will receive t-shirts
  • Players may add players to their roster up until Oct.1. After that, rosters are frozen

Eligibility Requirements

  • All players must bring a valid UHD ID or S&F Membership Card in order to play

Rules of Play

  • Teams consist of at least 7 players
  • Maximum roster limit is 12 people
  • Round robin league play is usually followed by single elimination play-offs
  • NIRSA flag football rules along with intramural rules will be used

Note: All players must play in at least one game by Oct. 1 or they will be dropped from their roster. In addition, your team will receive a forfeit for failing to appear to a game that is on the schedule. If a team forfeits, they will be automatically suspended for further league play. In order to be permitted back into the league that season, the team must pay a $20 forfeit fee by 4 p.m. on the following workday. In case of inclement weather, please call 713-221-8225 to see if games are canceled.
