Leon Trimmingham has been the head coach of the UHD men's basketball club team since 2010. Coach Trimmingham has led the squad to a conference playoff berth each season including a Lone Star Sports Club Conference title in fall 2011 and a second place finish in fall 2012.
He is a former professional athlete of 14 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program. He earned his communications degree while securing All-American honors during his junior and senior years at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. He has played basketball professionally and coached abroad in leagues from Argentina to Spain. Learning from some of the best coaches in the world, he hopes to continue the winning tradition of the UHD basketball program. He began his coaching career as a player-coach in Saudi Arabia. He has also served as the head boys basketball coach at Awty International High School in Houston. He was selected as the head coach for the College Exposure Australian Team that toured the United States during the summer of 2010. Coach Trimmingham can be contacted at neonl44@yahoo.com. |
