Home > WritingCamp >Write Out Loud: Performance Poetry Project
In this Writers in the Schools (WITS) workshop, you’ll explore and practice different styles of performance: spoken word poetry, dramatic monologues, expository speaking, and more. Through writing and performing various pieces, a WITS performance poet will help you develop tricks and techniques to make your product more powerful. You will develop your writer instinct, gain confidence, and improve your public speaking skills, a must for college presentations (and beyond!). We’ll talk about the importance of knowing your audience when performing, and we’ll explore how writing on paper takes on a different life spoken on stage. At the end of camp, we’ll showcase your success with a performance of your work.
