High School Credit Courses

 

The credit program offers high school courses given regularly in most Texas schools and approved by the Texas Education Agency through Trent InternationalE School, Sugar Land. Grades are given for each course and may become a part of the student’s overall grade point average.

Eligibility

Open to 9th through 12th grade students. Students who enroll in a credit course must have taken the prerequisites listed for each course and not previously have taken the course. The student has to get approval from high school academic counselor and principal to assure the student is qualified to take an intensive Summer School course, and to advise the student on how credit will be transferred. Students may not audit a course.

Registration

You must preregister on line and pay the initial deposit of $100 Once you have completed online registration, an application form with the required form will be sent by an email. Submit the completed application form with all the required signatures and balance amount of payment, must be received in our office within ten (10) business days. If for any reason you are not admitted to the program, the initial deposit paid will be refunded in full.

Courses Offered:

Geometry, PreAP/Honors (Credit: 1 unit)
Provides a foundation for higher level mathematics; presents Euclidean geometry of points, lines, planes, parallel lines, and congruent and similar polygons and circles. Prerequisite: Algebra I
U.S. History, AP course. (Credit: 1 unit)
The AP U.S. History course is designed to provide students with the analytic skills and factual knowledge necessary to deal with the problems in American history. The program prepares students for college courses by making demands on the students for a full year introductory course. Students will learn to assess historical materials and to weigh the evidence and interpretations presented in history.Upon successful completion of this course, students will be prepared to take AP US History exam.
World History AP course (Credit: 1 unit)
Emphasizes cultural, geographic, economic, and political history of major areas to develop understanding of world events and geopolitical balance today. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be prepared to take AP World History exam.
US Governament & Politics and Macroeconomcis, AP course (Credit: 1 unit)
Develops knowledge and awareness of the United
States' political system, governmental structure and functions at all levels. Accelerates the regular government program to include additional research, analysis, synthesis and evaluation skills. Presents basic principles of economics to guide students toward responsible citizenship. Recommended for grade 12. Prerequisites: United States History and Honors standing.
