Engineering Medical Solutions: You're the Architect

Ever wonder what happens when you combine engineering and medicine?  Then you want to join our Biomedical Engineering course. You’ll explore how canes, artificial legs, and other therapeutic and assistive devices are developed; identify what are the necessary tools to keep an injured heart going, such as balloon catheters, stents, and valves; and discover why other medical devices such as the CPB pump and laparoscopic instruments were created.  You’ll use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine basic solutions related to insulation, artificial heart valves, prosthetics, surgical instruments, and diagnostic tools such as a model thermometer.
