(Houston, Texas, February 26, 2007) Shohreh Hashemi, UH-Downtown associate professor of Finance, Accounting, and Computer Information Systems and chair of the Women's Month committee, has planned, with the help of her committee and sponsors, a fine selection of activities to celebrate Women's Month. During March, expect to meet women who excel in their fields and serve as role models for women everywhere. The Women's Month Calendar kicks off with the Audrey Buller exhibit at the UH-Downtown O'Kane Gallery and a mid-day lecture on Buller's work by Mark Cervenka, assistant professor and director of the gallery. From there, expect some excellent lectures, readings, a concert, a look at UHD women of excellence, and an Indian film festival that offers such classics as Salaam Bombay. Plan your calendars now to include the events of the month.
