(Houston, Texas, July 31, 2006) Dr. Don Bates, dean of the UHD College of Business, has been appointed to the Economic Development Advisory Committee of the Greater Houston Partnership.
The Economic Development Advisory Committee directs and supports efforts to market Houston, recruit and expand business, create new jobs and improve Houston's business image.
"I am honored to represent the University of Houston Downtown on this instrumental committee in the economic development of the area," said Bates.
Bates was recommended to the working group by Mike Ballases, Chairman of Houston Middle Market Banking at JPMorgan Chase; Bob Eury, President of Central Houston, Inc.; and Charles Foster, President, Tindall & Foster, P. C., Attorneys At Law.
The Greater Houston Partnership is an advocate for regional business in the ten-county Houston region. It's a network of public, private, government and nonprofit partners working together to achieve economic prosperity and greater quality of life for the entire region.
