News Releases Up to News/Calendar | Media | News Release Archives Earth Day Festival 2008 Take a boat ride on the bayou and celebrate Earth Day at the University of Houston-Downtown's The public is invited to visit with local agencies and listen to expert speakers to learn fun ways everyday people can help the environment. Take a boat ride on the bayou and see nature at its best in an urban setting. Enjoy live music, a small farmer's market, as well as giveaways and educational activities about environmental responsibility. At 2:30 p.m., take time to watch The 11th Hour, narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio. The documentary explores the state of the planet. It features politicians, scientists and other ambassadors who speak about universal ecological consciousness.
