Holds and Requests
Use the request button in the Library
Catalog to reserve a book that is checked out to another
person or that is only available from a library at the University
of Houston or the University of Houston Clear Lake. If the book
is available at University of Houston or the University of Houston
Clear Lake, a copy will be sent for you to pick up at our library.
If all copies are checked out, whoever has the book will not
be able to renew it and you will have access to the book as
soon as it is returned to the library. If someone else has placed
a hold on the same book before you, you will have access to
the book after that person has checked out the book and returned
it. Books are usually delivered to the Circulation Desk in 3-5
days. If the book is checked out to another person, it will
be delivered 3-5 days after the previous borrower returns it.
