Computers and Wireless

Library Computer Lab

Located in the North Tower, the Library Computer Lab has:

  • 65 computers with research databases, Internet access, and software for playing DVDs or compact discs
  • 2 computers with adaptive technology for the visually impaired
  • 2 computers with quick access to the Library Catalog

UHD students, faculty, and staff may use their Windows account to log onto any computer in the lab. If you forget your user name or password, please ask a librarian. Headphones for computers are available at the Circulation Desk. Please keep the volume low to be considerate of your neighbors. Additional computers can be found on the 8th floor of the One Main Building in the Academic Computing Lab (Room 800-South).

Visitors may use a guest computer by presenting a government-issued photo ID. For more details, please see Visitor Information.

 

Wireless Computing (WiFi)

  • The University has a campus-wide wireless network for current UHD students, faculty, and staff.
  • Your wireless device will automatically connect to the login screen when you open your web browser.
  • Use your Windows user name and password to connect (see My Personal Data" in student e-services).

Adaptive Technology

The library computer lab has 2 computer workstations with the following equipment for the visually impaired:

  • JAWS screen reading software
  • MAGic screen magnification software.
  • 1 workstation has a flatbed scanner with Scan/Read software.
  • 1 workstation has a print material magnifier (CCTV) with split screen capability.
