  • AnimeResearch - This website is a “starting point for academic research about anime, manga and other aspects of Japanese popular culture.” It is an excellent resource with original content as well as links to articles and other online resources.
  • Cinemedia - CineMedia is an online film and media directory with over 25,000 links. The site can be searched or browsed by categories. It provides a blend of official and fan sites.
  • Internet Movie Database - Extensive movie resource site. It is browsable by topic, and it can be searched. It is an excellent resource for information on movies, and it includes links to reviews and other resources.
  • MCS: Film Studies - This is an online portal to academic resources on media and communication studies. It is British-based, so the focus is on British topics and themes.
  • Movies, Race, and Ethnicity - Online bibliography of articles and films dealing with topics of race and ethnicity. The website, sponsored by the Moffitt Library at UC Berkeley, also has links to other bibliographies in film studies.
  • Movie Review Query Engine - Online search tool for movie reviews. It provides links to reviews from sources such as Roger Ebert, newspapers, organizations, and fan reviews.
  • PopMatters - Online magazine of media criticism. Topics covered include music, television, films, books, video games, computer software, theatre, the visual arts, and the Internet. Excellent resource for pop culture topics.
