Borrowing Library Materials

Students can borrow materials at UH-Downtown, UH-Clear Lake, and UH-Central with their UHD-ID Gator Card. For more details, please see Borrow Materials. Students who do not take any classes on the UHD campus are also eligible for article and book delivery. Articles will be mailed to your personal address. Books will be sent to your distance education site. If your classes are not held at a distance education site, use Ask a Librarian to request information about other delivery options. Please use these forms to request delivery of library materials:

You will be notified by telephone or e-mail when your books are available. To pick up books, you must present a UHD ID card or a TexShare card (see below). At San Jacinto College North, you must present a TexShare card.

Borrowing from Other Libraries

Students can also borrow materials directly from participating universities and public libraries through the TexShare card program. To get a TexShare card, please call the Circulation Desk at 713-221-8186. Our staff will verify your name, address, and registration status. Then a TexShare card will be mailed to your home address. For more information about TexShare, including a list of participating libraries, see TexShare Card Information. For information about borrowing from other Texas libraries, please see How to Borrow: Other Libraries.

Distance education borrowers can also use the Interlibrary Loan service to get articles and books from libraries around the world. If we do not own the item you need, we will make every effort to find a library that can supply it. Please allow at least one to four weeks for materials to arrive. To place an order, please use these request forms:
