Use the UHD Library Catalog to find print and electronic books owned by the W.I. Dykes Library, as well as print books owned by libraries at the University of Houston and the University of Houston-Clear Lake. UHD students, faculty, staff, and alumni can borrow books at any one of these libraries using their campus identification card. There are several ways to search the library catalog:
In the Advanced Keyword Search, there are options to limit your search by location, material type, language, or year. For other searches, these options are only available on the results screen. After you run an author, title, or subject search, click on the Limit/Sort Search button at the top of the results screen to see the limiting options from the Advanced Keyword Search.
To find a book or ebook, click on the title from the results screen display.
Then look for the location and call number, or the electronic resources link:


The electronic access link will connect you directly to the electronic book. For print books, the location and call number are the address that will tell you where to find the book in the library. For details, see Locations and Call Numbers.
