SciFinder
Scholar is a comprehensive database for chemistry research
with six major components:
- CAplus - An index of 25 million
journal articles and patent documents in chemistry
- CAS Registry - Chemical names,
structures, and properties for over 30 million substances
- CASREACT - 10 million single- and
multi-step reactions.
- CHEMCATS - Chemical prices and
availability from major suppliers
- CHEMLIST - Regulatory information
on 230,000 substances
- MEDLINE - An index of 15 million
journal articles in biomedicine
You can search these collections
by topic, author, chemical name, molecular formula,
CAS Registry Number, or patent number. You can also
use special software to draw chemical structures that
can be added to your search.

Due
to license restrictions, SciFinder Scholar is only available
to UHD faculty, students, and staff.
SciFinder Scholar uses client software
that must be installed on your computer.
The client software is available from faculty/staff
e-services or student
e-services (see Software Downloads).
To use this client software, your computer must be connected to the UHD campus network or to UHDWireless.
Faculty may use the software on any computer with UHD VPN. At this time, UHD VPN is only available to faculty.
