| Description: |
Google Scholar is a version of
Google that focuses on scholarly research in the form
of "peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts
and articles, from academic publishers, professional
societies, preprint repositories, universities and other
scholarly organizations." It covers all disciplines,
and it allows linking to works cited by the papers it
includes. Although the items it includes should still
be evaluated critically by the user, Google Scholar
provides higher quality scholarly results than Google
and other general search engines.
Google Scholar covers many pay-per-view
sites, but UHD users can get free access
to some pay-per-view sources:
When you connect in this way, you
will be asked to enter your e-services ID and PIN. Once
connected, look for a "Full-Text @ UH-Downtown"
or "Check Library Holdings" link in each line
of your search results to see free full-text options.

Off-campus
access is available only to current UHD students, faculty,
and staff. Adobe
Acrobat Reader ® is required to view some full
text articles.
Please see How to Connect
to Electronic Publications for other technical requirements. |
