Study Rooms

The library has a variety of study spaces for individuals and groups. Carrels and tables for individual study are located throughout the General Collection on 5th Floor South, in the Main Street Lobby on 4th Floor North. Lounge chairs and tables for individual study are available in the Reading Room on 4th Floor North. Individual study areas on 4th Floor North stay open when the library is closed.

Group Study Rooms

Thirteen group study rooms are located on 4th Floor North. Group study rooms are available in various sizes with maximum capacities ranging from 4 to 10 people. Priority is given to groups of three or more. Smaller groups may be asked to leave.

Some group study rooms have white boards and wall-mounted screens for laptops. Rooms with wall-mounted screens are locked and are available only during library hours. Unlocked study rooms stay open after hours when the library is closed.

Current UHD students, faculty, and staff can request access cards and computer cables for locked study rooms at the Information Desk in the Library Computer Lab (Room 401-North). Computer screens may be used with personal laptops or with laptops checked out from the Academic Computing Lab in Room 800-South.

 

Presentation Practice Rooms

Two presentation practice rooms, 449-North and 453-North, are equipped to help students practice presentations. Each room has a computer with Internet access, library databases, and office software; a projector; a document camera; and a combined DVD and VHS video player. Current students, faculty, and staff can check out an access key at the Information Desk in the Library Computer Lab (401-North).
