Nadine Peterson, Safety/Security Manager
Ext. 8996

Welcome to the Safety/Security service unit! The Safety/Security service unit of the Facilities Management department is responsible for the Facilities Management department's Security Program, campus master key and lock system and campus electronic access control system.

The department's Safety training includes:

  • Hazardous Communication
  • Lockout-Tagout
  • CPR-First Aid Training
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Respiratory Protection
  • Emergency Evacuation Procedures for department
  • Plus many other safety topics/issues

The department's Security function covers all campus doors and locks. This includes:

  • Lock installation and repair
  • Key cutting services/replacement
  • Rekeying of office(s) or departments
  • Maintenance of standard access system
  • Management of Electronic Access System
  • Download, print, and submit the key control form (in PDF format) to request a key be issued to you or someone in your department for any of the university's facilities.

Because each department on campus has a different approach to the security of their department, the Safety/Security service unit customizes services to meet the specific needs and requirements of that department. Under our present unit-based approach to providing services, we are working hard to ensure full accountability for quality, cost-effectiveness, and response to all departments.

Thank you for visiting our section. If you have any questions regarding any of Safety/Security's services, please contact our manager listed above.
