I’Colleagues: The following offers some background as to why I am running for Faculty Senate Secretary-Treasurer. As a former five year faculty senator (at another university) and as a third-generation faculty senator (my father at Penn State and his father at then Texas Western, now UTEP) well versed in both Robert’s Rules and Mason’s Manual, I offer my candidacy for Faculty Senate Secretary-Treasurer here at the University of Houston - Downtown. I believe this to be logical step in my efforts to provide service to my institution and profession. My vita is located www.uhd.edu/~halet. My first priority for the office is to improve/update the Faculty Senate website and communication protocols. I currently run and operate a small website for an off-campus organization which can be seen here www.sivavolleyball.com.
