Digital signage is supported by dedicated channels that reside on a web server. A signage server and media players are used to link to the content on the web server via ‘http’. Display units are housed in various high-traffic areas around the university (at UHD’s campus in downtown Houston and at the UHD Northwest campus on HWY 249). The digital signage channels that are currently defined are as follows: |

Adding Content to Digital Signage Channels Authorized users incorporate their content in various ways. The most popular method employs power point. Users design power point slides with content and media embedded in the slides, save the slides as jpegs, and posts the slides to the web server. This is not the only method, since the UHD digital signage system will take multiple file formats. Assistance in adding content to digital signage channels is available in the Technology Teaching and Learning Center (TTLC; Rm. 700A)These file formats include: Video: .mpg, .m2v, .wmv, .mpeg, .mp4, .mov
