University of Houston-Downtown's telephone services include installation, billing, directory services, and long distance access codes. The university has its own Siemens phone system with unified messaging capabilities.
The university also supports a video network which is used for video conferencing and distance learning within the university and to remote locations. Cable television and video streaming services are also available at University of Houston-Downtown.
Data networking is provided at University of Houston-Downtown by a high speed switched ethernet network supporting connectivity via wireless devices, OC-3, T-1, dynamic PPP and ISDN links.
Telecommunication services are supported by the Computing, Telecommunications, and Video Network Infrastructure and the Technical Services groups within the Information Technology Division.
