The recent developments in Information Technology, networking and advanced shared scientific and academic resources have pushed the Internet to the next level which is being called the Cyber Infrastructure (CI). 

The concept of the Cyber Infrastructure and its implications for research and education are just now being introduced to most institutions of higher education.

An important goal of Cyber Infrastructure is to help stimulate additional grant proposals to fund CI related activities and encourage on- and off-campus partnerships to help make this happen.
