Standards for Research Involving Human Subjects Committee

 

Charge

Reviews and approves all research projects affiliated with or conducted at the university involving human subjects.

Composition

The committee's faculty membership is composed of tenured or tenure-track faculty. Faculty membership includes one representative from each degree granting college. In addition, two faculty representatives are appointed from departments with significant research agendas utilizing human subjects.

Non-faculty membership on the committee includes at least one non-scientific university staff member and one community representative not associated with the university.

Two additional positions on the committee include the director of Sponsored Programs and a representative of the Provost's Office. The representative of the Provost's Office serves in an ex-officio capacity and has no voting rights.
