Career Decisions / Choosing a Major
At Career Development Center we see career choice as one of life’s most crucial decisions. It involves integrating a person’s work preferences, values, and skills with their overall life goals to determine the best possible career. This idea is true whether you are an entering freshman with no career history, or you have extensive education and career history to consider.

 

Most of our work in this area is by appointment with a counselor; however, if you would like to work on your own prior to making an appointment, you can call and ask for access to our web-based TypeFocus program. TypeFocus contains some brief “tests” to help you get started and databases of careers matched to particular majors.

 

In addition to TypeFocus we have What Can I do with This Major?, a series of detailed information about career options for particular majors. Not all the majors listed are offered at the university.
