UHD Parking & Transportation Services
The University Police Department coordinates parking services. All parking on campus is by permit only. Parking fees vary by semester and are subject to change. For complete information regarding parking costs, information and locations, please visit the Parking & Transportation Services Office, located in Suite 354-North in the One Main Building or call 713-221-8127.

Parking Enforcement
UHD campus is patrolled 24 hours, seven days a week by the Police Department. Parking violators may receive a university citation, a warning citation, a City of Houston citation, or Harris County citation. The registered permit holder is responsible for any citations issued to the permit.
A partial listing of violations:
• Parking in a non-designated area
• Parking permit not properly displayed
• Falsifying, reproducing or altering a permit
• Parking in a no parking zone
• Unauthorized parking in a reserved, handicapped, restricted or visitor parking area
• Obstructing traffic, street, sidewalk, crosswalk, driveways, trash containers and building entrances and/or exits
• Parking in service drives or access drives leading into parking areas
• Parking in a striped zone
• Parking a vehicle with any part thereof extending across a line which serves as a boundary of a parking space or parking area such that parking of other vehicles is impaired or where such parking creates a potential hazard
• Parking without a valid permit
• Parking in a tow-away zone
• Other violations as defined on the face of the
citation(s)
Resolution of Citation:
If you receive a citation, you can either pay the fine or appeal the citation. A citation must be appealed within five calendar days of the date of the issued citation or the recipient waives the right to appeal.
The violator can voluntarily surrender a valid parking permit to Parking & Transportation Services Office and thereby lose all parking privileges on campus for a period of 30 days for each citation. Only citations assigned to the permit holder may be resolved by permit surrender. This option is not available during the final 30 days of any semester.
The President of the University of Houston-Downtown shall provide an equitable and efficient appeal process through the establishment of a Parking Violation and Appeals Committee. All written appeals will be forwarded to the Appeals Committee by the PTS.
Visitor Parking
Visitors to University of Houston-Downtown campus are always welcome. Visitor lot parking is a flat fee of $5.00 regardless of the length of time. The entrance to Visitor Parking must be made off Girard Street at the northwest corner of the campus. The visitor parking lot is located beneath the Academic Building. Exit tokens are purchased from Parking & Transportation Services, Suite 354N. After hours and/or when the parking office is closed, exit tokens may be purchased at the token vending machine located on the 1st floor of the west tower (in the lobby area next to elevators) Departments may furnish complimentary exit tokens to guests visiting their department. Students are encouraged not to park in the Visitors Lot.

Parking Complaints- Metered Parking Lots
Metered parking areas are under the control of the City of Houston. Please call 713-247-5100 for any problems with metered parking areas including parking tickets issued in these areas.

Shuttle Bus Service
Parking and Transportation Services coordinates the shuttle bus service. The shuttles operate from the Daly St. Lot, to the One Main Building, to Commerce St. Bldg, (corner of Franklin St. & Fannin St.), to the Shea St. Garage.
Shuttle bus hours are:
6:30am - 10:45pm, Mon. - Thurs.
6:30am - 6:00pm, Friday
Shuttle buses do not operate on weekends and UHD holidays
