Mission
Statement
In Service to the University of Houston-Downtown students, faculty, staff, visitors and surrounding community, we are committed to fair and impartial enforcement of State and Federal Laws and the penal provisions of the Texas Education Code; prevention of crime, vigorous pursuit of offenders; compassionate assistance of crime victims and individual involvement in the success of students, faculty, staff in their academic and workday endeavors. We will regard students, faculty, staff, visitors and surrounding community as customers of our service process. We will respond to requests for assistance as quickly as possible in a patient, caring, courteous manner. We will treat customers with respect, dignity and compassion. We will do whatever it takes to correct any situation that does not meet our customers satisfaction. We will respond to well founded criticism with an eagerness to change for success. We will strive to reduce fears of our customers, so far as we can. We will reflect our customers priorities in the actions we take. We will strive to remain professional, calm and restrained in the face of violence and utilize only that force necessary to accomplish our lawful duty. We will treat our associates with mutual trust, fairness and dignity as we strive to accomplish this mission. |
