Dr. Uzman is an assistant professor of biology &  biochemistry at UHD. He is also the coordinator of the biotechnology program, and an advisor for the new bioinformatics minor, biological & physical sciences, biology, and chemistry with emphasis in biochemistry. As a member of HPAC,  he advises students on medical & dental professions including dental hygiene, physician assistant, and public health. Dr. Uzman’s research interests are biochemical signaling pathways  during embryonic development, bioinformatics and modeling of developmental systems. His hobbies include reading, writing, web-design, and chess. He is a card-carrying member of the ACLU and a board member of the Houston  Chapter of the ACLU.
