The Student Branch of the American Society for Microbiology
The objectives of the society are the following educational and scientific endeavors:

-The promotion of scientific knowledge of microbiology and related subjects through research, discussions, reports, and publications.

-The stimulation of scientific investigations.

-The improvement of education in microbiology and related subjects.

The society participates in various UHD and City of Houston volunteer projects, hosts educational guest speakers, organizes field trips, conducts social events, and has ongoing teaching projects at area schools.
