Certifying Your Enrollment

Major Declaration

When you notify UH-Downtown of your approval for veterans education benefits, you will be automatically placed under the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies degree plan for certification purposes only.

In your UH-Downtown academic records however, you will be considered an undeclared major. All students who have not declared a major are required to see an Academic Advisor.

To officially declare your major you must complete and submit an Application for an Official Degree Plan to the Academic Advising Center.

Once you have officially declared your major, you must submit the following to Veterans Services:

  • Your acceptance letter from the college of your major
  • Your official degree plan (completed by your Academic Advisor)
  • VA-form 1995-Request for Change of Program or Place of Training

The VA allows you to change your program of study one time as long as your progress has been satisfactory at UHD. Any additional degree changes may require documentation that proves to the VA that the new program is suited to your ability and goals.
