The University of Houston-Downtown’s academic scholarships recognize and reward outstanding academic achievement. The University's application for admission now serves as the student's scholarship application. Submission of a scholarship application is no longer required for institutional scholarships. Applying for admission early and registering for classes as soon as possible is strongly suggested. The appropriate Scholarship Committee will make selections and then scholarship candidates will be notified by mail. Scholarships will be awarded as long as funds are available.

Once you have been awarded a UHD scholarship it will be available for credit toward your tuition and fee bill. If you are awarded funds in excess of your tuition and fee bill, you will have a balance check mailed to your home address by the UHD Student Accounting Office. Scholarships awarded by organizations outside UHD will be disbursed according to guidelines provided by the donor organization.

Students currently receiving a renewable UHD undergraduate scholarship or the renewable Deans scholarship are not eligible to receive an additional UHD Undergraduate Scholarship.
