WHO IS CONSIDERED A TRANSFER STUDENT?

Do you have more than 15 college-level credits to transfer to UHD?
If you have more than 15 college-level credits from a regionally accredited school, have never before attended UHD and are a U.S. citizen, you qualify for admission to UHD as a Transfer student. As a transfer student are you required to submit official transcripts from any from all colleges/universities you have attended. There are special requirements for applicants wishing to transfer credits from outside the United States (see below).

Do you have less than 15 college-level credits to transfer?
If you have less than 15 college-level credits to transfer, have never previously attended UHD and are a U.S. citizen, you are considered a freshman transfer applicant.
Freshman transfer students complete the Freshman application process. This requires you to submit an official high school or GED transcript as well as official college or university transcripts. For more information on the freshman application process, please visit the Office of Admissions website.

Were you previously enrolled at UHD?
Students who have attended UHD but who were not enrolled during the preceding long semester (Fall or Spring) or more are considered
Readmit applicants. If you would like information on applying for readmission, please visit the Office of Admissions website.

Are you looking to transfer credits from UHD to another institution?
If you intend to take courses at UHD for the sole purpose of transferring credits to another institution, you will be considered a
Transient student. For more information on applying as a transient student, please visit the Office of Admissions website.

Do you currently hold a non-immigrant visa or have applied for immigration status?
If you hold a non-immigrant visa or have applied for immigrant status but have not adjusted their status with the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) you are considered an international student and must apply through
International Admissions. For more information on International Admissions please visit the Office of Admissions website.

Do you want to transfer credits from outside the United States to UHD?
If you are not considered an international student, but are interested in transferring college credit from outside the United States, you will need to submit your documents to a credential evaluation service which is a member of the
National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), or NAFSA: Association of International Educators. For a listing of suggested credential evaluation services, please visit the Transferring Credit from Overseas website.
