PAYING FOR TUITION AND FEES FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does it cost to attend UHD?
  Tuition and fees for UHD are posted under the Financial Issues column of the Transfer Center website.
   
What types of financial aid are available for transfer students?
  Transfer students are eligible to apply for grants and loans through the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Visit the Transfer Center's section on Financial Aid.

There are also UHD scholarships available specifically for incoming transfer students. More information on these scholarships can be found on the Transfer Center website under Financial Issues.

What is the FAFSA?
  FAFSA stands for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This form must be completed in order to receive financial aid from the University of Houston Downtown. For more information on the FAFSA and applying online for financial aid, visit the FAFSA website.
   
If I have already completed financial aid forms for another institution, do I have to complete more forms for UHD?
  Yes. In order to apply for financial aid at UHD, you will need to complete the UHD Financial Aid Application and Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy in addition to the FAFSA. You will also need to contact FAFSA representatives in order for them to send your FAFSA information to UHD. Visit the financial aid section to view the steps to transferring your financial aid information to UHD.
   
Does UHD offer tuition payment plans?
  Yes. Tuition and fees may be paid in installments during the Fall and Spring. In order to sign up for the payment plan, you will need to complete and submit the Method of Payment Form to the Cashier’s Office.
   
I heard that UHD offers emergency loans. How are these different from other loans?
  Emergency Tuition Loans are available during Fall and Spring semesters only to students who are unable to make their first installment payment either because financial aid funds are not yet available or because of temporary financial hardship.
