| The State of Texas requires that all students take or show exemption from an assessment test prior to enrolling in college-level courses in a public institution.
Several options are available: THEA (formerly TASP), ASSET, COMPASS, or ACCUPLACER.
If you have already taken one of these tests, or if you are exempt from testing, you must submit official documentation of your scores to the Office of Admissions. |
The AccuPlacer/WritePlacer is one of four assessment instruments approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to satisfy the Texas Success Initiative. It is also the university's placement examination (AccuPlacer) combined with an essay (WritePlacer). Click Here for more information about the Texas Success Initiative.
