If you have more than 15 college-level credits from a regionally accredited school, you may qualify for transfer undergraduate admission to UHD.
Transfer Student Checklist (PDF)
UHD maintains transfer guides for all area community and junior colleges. The transfer guides let you know what the UHD course equivalency is for a course taken at another college or university.
If you have a general question about transfer credit, please contact an Admissions Counselor. Once you have been accepted and assigned a student ID, you may request at transcript evaluation.
Please note the following:
The Office of Admissions only evaluates transcripts from institutions that are Regionally Accredited. Typically, UHD does not accept credits from vocational, technical, or career institutions as they are not regionally accredited. Remember, you may always petition courses through the department of your major.

All transcripts sent to UHD must be official. A transcript is considered official when it bears the institution’s seal, is signed by the using authority, is sent directly by the issuing institution OR delivered in the institution’s sealed envelope (copies and faxes do not satisfy this requirement). This includes high school transcripts, home school transcripts, GED certificates, college and university transcripts, and standardize test scores.
You can submit your transcripts in person in the Office of Admissions (350-South) or have them mailed to:

One Main Street, Suite 350 South
Houston, Texas 77002
If you attended a high school, college or university outside the United States, your transcripts must be evaluated by a credential evaluation service recognized by UHD prior to applying for admissions to the university.
If you are currently attending a community or junior college and want to get a head start on your bachelor’s degree, the Joint Admission Program is for you. Through the Joint Admission Program, you can be a student at a community college and at UHD at the same time. You can earn credits toward your associate degree and your UHD bachelor’s degree at the same time.
