Residency status is determined in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for Determining Residence Status, published by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and pursuant to Title 3, Texas Education Code.

If you were born outside of the United States, you will need to present, in person, your original immigration documentation, passport or citizenship certificate in order to determine residency for tuition purposes. If you were born outside of Texas, you may need to provide information regarding your employment in the state in order to qualify for in-state tuition. If you submit your residency documents after you have been admitted, you must appeal your residency status through the Registrar's Office.
