If you hold a non-immigrant visa, you are classified as an international student. If you have applied for immigrant status, but have not adjusted your status with the Immigration and Naturalization Service, you must apply for international admission.

To apply for graduate admission, please complete the online ApplyTexas Application.

Please see the program you wish to apply to for specific requirements, entry dates, and application deadlines.
Master of Science in Criminal Justice
Master of Arts in Teaching
Master of Professional Writing and Technical Communication
Master of Security Management for Executives

If you attended a college or university outside the United States, your transcripts must be evaluated by an evaluation service recognized by UH-Downtown. Visit the list of suggested evaluation services page.

Upon receipt of your application and supporting materials, the Office of Admissions will send you a letter about the status of your file. Your file must be complete in order to be considered for admission. Once the department of the program to which you are applying has made a decision regarding your acceptance, you will be notified of the decision by mail.

Please note:
You cannot apply for admission as a post-baccalaureate student and graduate student at the same time.

If you have further questions regarding the graduate application requirements, please contact Yolanda Salinas, Coordinator of Admissions.

If you have further questions regarding the international student documents, please contact Nosa Iyoha, Coordinator of International Admissions.
