When you submit your FAFSA, it is run through several edits to test the accuracy of the data reported. Based on the data you provided, you may be selected for "verification." If your application is selected for verification, you will be asked to provide to the OSFA, at a minimum:

  1. Signed copies of your 2006 federal income tax return and/or your parent’s (or spouse’s, if applicable) 2006 federal income tax return.
  2. Institutional Verification Worksheet (IVF).

Sometimes even more documentation is required to resolve discrepancies found in the verification process. The OSFA will notify you if any additional documentation is required. All documents submitted to the OSFA become the property of the office. Unsolicited or unnecessary documents will be destroyed.

HOW WILL YOU KNOW IF YOU NEED TO PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION?
