The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA) would like to welcome you to University of Houston-Downtown. In an effort to help your transition, we have provided a checklist to assist you in applying for financial aid at UHD.
| Step 1 | Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Be sure to list our school code - 003612 on the FAFSA. |
| Step 2 | If you haven't done so already, apply for admission to the university. Since financial aid funds are limited, we will not review any files for students who have not been admitted to the university. |
| Step 3 | Be aware of all financial aid and university deadlines. Every year, the priority deadline for financial aid is April 1st and the priority deadline for payment is July 1st. For a more detailed description of these dates please refer to the Important Dates page. For university dates and deadlines, please refer to the Academic Calendar. |
| Step 4 | Please be sure that you have the correct address on file with the OSFA. We will notify you by mail if any additional documentation is needed. Please respond to these requests as soon as possible as time is of the essence. |
| Step 5 | Monitor your file online via e-services under the "My Financial Aid" link. This service allows you to review the status of your file, view any request for missing documentation as well as view the amount of financial aid awarded. You will need your UHD pin to access this information. Your pin number is assigned upon admission to the university. |
