If you plan to graduate from the University of Houston-Downtown, you must file an application for graduation with the degree-granting college of your major and submit a Diploma Order Form to the Registrar's Office. A graduation fee is required at the time of filing the application.
Deadlines for filing applications and paying any associated fees are announced in the Academic Calendar. If you do not complete the requirements for the degree, the application procedures must be repeated.
To apply for graduation you must (in the following order):

Pay the $50 Application for Graduation fee (If you wish to mail-in your Diploma Order Form please include a check or money order. If you wish to pay in-person, please pay your fee at the Cashier's Office before submitting your form). |

Submit your completed Diploma Order Form and fee receipt to the Registrar’s Office |
Diplomas are sent through Certified Mail to the address indicated in your UH-Downtown records, unless otherwise specified. If no one is available to sign for your diploma upon delivery, it will be returned to the Post Office and held for approximately four (4) weeks. If you are not able to pick-up your diploma from the Post Office within that time-frame, it will be returned to UH-Downtown's Registrar's Office (you will be able to pick-up your diploma in person with a photo ID). Please call the Registrar's Office prior to picking up your diploma.
Diplomas are available approximately three (3) months after the Official Close of the Semester.
